چکیده
Lignin is a potential renewable raw material for synthesis of aromatic molecules and materials. Particularly, Kraft-type lignins are abundantly available as byproduct wood paper industries. Currently, there practically no valuable products made using this highly complex polymer. Within work, we have investigated the straightforward, high-yield depolymerization two different technical (Indulin AT alkaline lignin) only mixture green short-chain (C1–C3) alcohols water solvents. As shown here, at temperature 220 °C, autogenous pressure, isopropanol/water co-solvent medium, it possible to cleave Kraft lignin without char-forming side reactions. The obtained so-called “light” oil contains guaiacol-based monomeric units 23 wt % yield together with liquid oligomers 13 combining liquid–liquid solid–liquid extraction. Two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance analysis residues showed that treatment caused marked breakdown intermolecular β–O–4 β–β bonds; thus, produced monomers lower molecular weight. results suggested synergistic effect between isopropanol water. No sign repolymerization reactions could be observed process.

Antioxidant Abilities Comparison of Lignins with Their Hydrothermal Liquefaction Products
Black liquor alkaline lignin and magnesium lignosulfonate were liquefied at 320 C. The antioxidant abilities of the liquefaction products were compared with the raw materials. Results showed that the total phenol content and unit antioxidant power of both alkaline lignin liquefaction products (ALLP) and magnesium lignosulfonate liquefaction products (MLLP) were improved, and ALLP had a larger i...
متن کاملMolecular weight-functional group relations in softwood residual kraft lignins
An integrated picture of the distribution of functional groups should be provided as a function of molecular size within residual kraft lignins. With this goal we developed a reliable and reproducible method for determination of the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of residual kraft lignins (RKLs) over the whole delignification range. In general, our data indicate that for rel...
متن کاملKraft Lignin Depolymerization in an Ionic Liquid without a Catalyst
In this paper, the depolymerization of lignin was successfully achieved by the thermal treatment of kraft lignin in butyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec7-enium chloride ([DBUC4][Cl]) without a catalyst. The thermal treatment experiments were performed in an oven at 150, 200, and 250 °C for 1 h. The changes in kraft lignin structure over the course of depolymerization were characterized by gel per...
متن کاملReducing the Content of Vocs of Softwood Kraft Lignins for Material Applications
Three laccases, functioning in mild acidic, and one in slightly alkaline conditions, were evaluated in order to reduce low-molecular phenolic VOCs of kraft lignins, which could be used in lignin/natural fibers composites. The potential of a sulfhydryl oxidase to catalyze the oxidation of sulfur containing VOCs (thiols) was also tested in combination with the laccase-catalyzed oxidation. In addi...
متن کاملCharacterization of Lignins from Sugarcane Bagasse Pretreated with Green Liquor Combined with Ethanol and Hydrogen Peroxide
Sugarcane bagasse was pretreated by green liquor combined with ethanol (GL-Ethanol) and green liquor combined with H2O2 (GL-H2O2). After 72 h of enzymatic hydrolysis, the glucose yields of sugarcane bagasse pretreated with GL-Ethanol and GL-H2O2 were 97.7% and 41.7%, respectively. The reason that GL-Ethanol was more effective than GLH2O2 has not been elucidated clearly. In this study, the chemi...
